Saipan 01 - Yellow Boxfish

The Yellow Boxfish can be recognised by its box-shaped body, bright yellow colouration and black spots. Juveniles have black spots about the size of the pupil. As the fish grows, the spots become smaller and brownish, sometimes even changing to white spots with a black margin.

- Taken on a recent holiday to the very small Islans of Saipan in the Pacific [link]

* Photo Taken: Near Susupe on Saipan. On a cloudy day, depth about 1 meter.

Fish are not usually very good subjects beacause they tend to be moving all the time!!! :lmao: This one is a very nice shot, thou... You can spot some movement on the mouth of the fish, but nothing really bad... Congrats!!!

thanks.

Yeah fish are hard, they are moving, the water had some current so I was moving around a lot too. I had to hold one hand on a rock and shot with one hand for most of these fish shots.

It was fun thought and has been very educational looking up all the fish names etc.

I hope I can keep on improving. I look forward to going again.

Great shot, very good considering that it's probably a difficult subject to photograph.

Thank you very much, it is a difficult thing to photograph. ;)

I absolutely adore BoxFish, I recently saw some at a sea life centre in Bristol and was taken aback by how beautiful and unique they looked...
